Sunday is my dad's birthday. I've been thinking about that for the last few days and just thinking about my dad's influence in my life. My dad taught me some of the most important lessons of my life. My dad taught me:
• How important excellence is in every day life
• How to treat my wife
• How to treat my daughter and my grandkids
• How to use my musical gifts
• How to lead and manage others
• How important it is to always do the right thing
• How important a good name and reputation is
• How to care for others who haven't exactly treated you right
• How to follow God for a lifetime
Sometimes when I go home someone says to me, "You're just like your dad. You're definitely Loris Bowman's son." I consider that an honor. Happy Birthday, Dad! I love you!

I lost my dad 17 years ago this March and I miss him daily. My dad was a drunk for most of my life but the last 3 years before he died, he quit drinking and he found GOD and he was such a pleasant person to be around.
Last week when Dave spoke about praying for things and sometimes it takes years, I certainly related to that, b/c all of my childhood life I would pray that he quit drinking and finally 18 years later he did. I thank god for that everyday and I remember that when I ponder on life in general.
Dave you are an awesome person and I am thankful I finally found a church where I look forward to going and hate when service ends. Thank your dad from all of your NHC family.
