I posted earlier that Susan and I were in Dallas last weekend for a friend's wedding. As travel experiences go these days, ours was a pretty good one. We had two good flights with no delays or hassles, unless you count the fact that Susan had a driver's license that needed to be renewed so she had to go through extra security checks!
But one of the coolest parts of the trip was our rental car experience. I had gone through Priceline and had gotten a really good deal through National Car Rental for a mid-size car. Now usually that means you're going to get a stripped down American made car that is no fun to drive, but what the heck, we were trying to save a few bucks.
When we got the paper work filled out the lady behind the counter said, "Just walk out to this section of the lot and pick out any car you want to drive." That was new for me because every time I've rented a car they pick it out for you.
So we walked out to the lot and there were the usual stripped down cars, but there were also Jeep Libertys, a cool looking Chevy HHR and two really cool looking Chrysler PT Cruisers. And we could pick whatever we wanted! Cool!
We got into one and didn't like it...got into another and finally decided we liked the color of this one...
So we got a super deal on the price, got to pick out the car we wanted and got to drive a fun car for the weekend. So, thanks National Car Rental for a great rental car experience!
P.S. That's my beautiful wife in the car after having some great Texas barbeque at Sonny Bryan's. Hot car...hot wife...hot barbeque...what more could a guy need?
