Today we rocked Pt. 2 of txt, focusing in on the reliability of the Bible itself. This was one of those days where I really struggled with the sermon. Why? Because there's just too much to say! There is so evidence for the reliability of the Bible that I've spent the last couple of days cutting back on material for time's sake. It just blows my mind when I think about it. God obviously went way out of his way to protect and authenticate his Word in a manner that gives credence to our faith. Christianity never has been and never will be a "blind faith" proposition where we turn off our brains at the door just to accept Jesus. Yes, it takes faith, but it's a reasoned faith based on real evidence that we can objectively examine.
So, if you missed today check out the podcast! And be sure to check out the resources we're recommending during this series. Here's a few new internet resources....
• leestrobel.com - The website of Lee Strobel, author of The Case For Christ. I recommended this book today and you can check out his website for some really cool videos of Lee giving detailed explanations of some of the material in his book. Highly recommended!
• oneyearbible.com - I've been recommending the One Year Bible during this series and this website is like a clearing house for One Year Bible resources.
• oneplace.com - Great website for various Bible studies and podcasts.

I've been using What The Bible Is All About by Henrietta Mears. Leah recommended it and for someone who can get hung up on details that might not be important, it helps me see the big picture of the bible as a collection of documents, like Dave was explaining, and... Randall & I prefer Picture Books anyway:)Since we'll probably never visit, it's awesome to see the photographs of the setting of the stories!

One of my favorite Bible resources is the NIV Daily Bible: In Chronological Order (on ChristianBook.com at http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=7596&netp_id=150799&event=ESRCN&item_code=WW&view=details). It helps you see the whole story of the Bible--puts all the laws about a given topic together, the prophets with the kings they ministered to, the Gospels in one combined account, and so on. Plus it gets you through the Bible in a year. Pretty cool.
