• Hot is over! I think I'm ready for it to be over. We ended with an aweseome sight - 170 couples standing up in in our 3 services to renew their wedding vows! Great way to end a marriage series!
• One thing we've learned from this series - we have WAY more singles and singles again than we knew. That will probably change our approach to relationship series in the future.
• Another thing we've learned from this series - we have some of the most awesome volunteers I've ever seen! Our teams rose to the occasion this month like I've never seen before. NHC volunteers rock!
• Hugh rocked the feature song, Have I Told You Lately! Awesome love song to cap off the vows and communion.

• Rough count - almost 90 first time commitments to Christ during the Hot series!! If you invited, prayed, gave and/or volunteered during this last 5 weeks YOU HELPED THOSE PEOPLE INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD!! WAY TO GO NHC!!!
• We announced a big schedule change yesterday. We had scheduled two weeks of baptism back-to-back. But we've just felt a lot of people hurting lately. There's a lot of fear out there because of the economy...lots of anxiety about the election...in general, just a lot of people who seem to need a sense of hope again. So, we're doing baptisms next Sunday and then launching a 2 week series called, When Life Hurts. I love it when God calls an audible! If you know someone who's hurting right now be sure to invite them to this new series! It's going to be powerful.
• PRAY WITH ME ABOUT THIS ONE - I'm sensing that God is wanting us to do something at NHC that we've never done before. It's going to stretch us like never before. Conventional wisdom would say this is not the time to do it, but the more I pray about it the more I'm convinced that's exactly why we should do it. I can't tell you what it is yet, but just pray!!
