...36 years ago today, that is. It's hard to believe that 36 years have actually gone by. It seems like it was just yesterday that we walked an aisle in a little Southern Illinois church (that had NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!) and said, "I do," to God and each other.
During the last 36 years we've experienced a lot:
• Almost 5 years without kids where we almost literally did everything together, creating a deep and lasting friendship.
• The birth of our precious daughter, Heather, and two beautiful granddaughters, Arianna and Jayden.
• Led two youth ministries that produced fruit that still lasts today.
• Uprooted our little family and our lives to move to Durham to start what is now New Horizon Church, which was our biggest step of faith ever.
• Developed friendships that were lasting and have been a huge blessing in our lives.
• Learned how to love each other for the long haul.
• Learned how to use the hardships of life to pull together rather than pulling apart.
• Realized how much we love each other and how thankful we are that God brought us together.
So, to my loving, beautiful wife...
• You are my beloved.
* You are my best friend.
• I love your commitment to Jesus and that you led me back to full commitment to him.
• You've always encouraged me to follow God and the vision he has given me. And you've followed me no matter where that took us. In a way, every life that has been changed through our ministry over the years can be traced back to your willingness to allow God to use us the way he has.
• Thank you for believing in me.
• You're more beautiful to me than you were 36 years ago.
• Thank you for 36 years. Want to do another 36?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
