• Big time holy hangover this Monday! Last week tapped me out with meetings every night, a wedding (which I very seldom do now), week 4 of Relationship Rehab, and then Fusion on Sunday evening. Whew!
• Wrapped up Relationship Rehab with a focus on sex and romance from Song of Songs. If you ever question how God feels about sex just take a little trip through Song of Songs! Wow!! And just think - God made sure that Song of Songs got included in his Word. Just goes to show you that sex is GOD'S IDEA! God didn't catch Adam and Eve behind the bushes one Saturday night doin' the deal! HE CREATED SEX...HE TAUGHT ADAM AND EVE HOW TO DO IT. (Just imagine that sex ed class, huh?) GOD IS THE AUTHORITY ON HOW TO HAVE GREAT SEX AND ROMANCE IN OUR MARRIAGES!
• Why would we talk about sex in church? Frankly, I think one of the reasons why sex has gotten so messed up in our culture is BECAUSE THE CHURCH WON'T TALK ABOUT IT...at least not in a positive way. Plenty of preachers will yell at people and tell them not to "do it," but they won't teach the positive side of romance and sex.
• Yes, I did say that husbands need to be "all day, every day lovers." We should be loving our wives like Christ loves the church all day, every day.
• And guys, one of the things I really emphasized in this series is our need to communicate with our wives. If you want to know how she feels, ASK HER. If you want to know what makes her feel loved, ASK HER. If you want to know what makes her feel romantic, ASK HER. The person who can coach you best on what your wife needs is (guess who?) YOUR WIFE. You won't learn what you need to know in the latest edition of Men's Health. You won't learn what you need to know from you buddy at work who has been married 3 times. ASK YOUR WIFE!!!
• What's the coolest thing that happened yesterday at NHC? 13 kids prayed to receive Jesus in NHC Kids!!! (Plus 14 adults in the adult services!)
• That reminds me - baptism is coming up November 8th. Stop by Next Steps on Sundays to pick up baptism info packs and get registered.
• Now for the really big news - Duke won a real football game Saturday!
