Those of you who know me, know where I spent last Sunday afternoon - in front of my TV watching Duke win the ACC Championship. As usual in the ACC, it was a very good, very hard fought game. But there was a moment that caught my attention and I've been thinking about ever since.
Kyle Singler had taken an inbound pass and was trying to bring the ball upcourt. He made the mistake of trying to handle the ball like a point guard and got trapped against the sideline and turned it over. Coach K used it as a teaching moment and called out to Singler, "Be big!" In other words, don't try to play like a small guard, be BIG!
Since Sunday I've been thinking a lot about how to be BIG (OK, no short jokes here!):
• How can I be big in my faith?
• How can I be big at following Jesus?
• How can I think big?
• How can I plan big?
• How can I lead big?
• How can I pray big?
• How can I dream big?
Here's what I know about God: He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us... Ephesians 3:20
He's BIG! He does BIG things! That means he wants to do something BIG in and through your life.
So, how do you need to BE BIG to allow God to do what he wants to do in and through your life?
