This is what I'm wearing to Easter services at New Horizon this weekend - JEANS! (Dave, isn't that what you always wear? Yes, but I just thought you'd like to know.)
Honestly, when most unchurched people think about going to church they think of a place that is kind of stuffy. A place where you have to put on your best face and your best clothes. A place that just doesn't seem real. This leads to a perception that the church is just all about itself and it leaves them with, shall we say, less than positive thoughts about the church and those who attend church.
So, this weekend there's a lot at stake at New Horizon. There will be a ton of new people who will give the church and Jesus one more chance. I'm really pumped about the thought that they will be showing up at New Horizon where we'll be wearing jeans and just being ourselves. That's going to change how they think about church, Christians and Jesus...hopefully for eternity!
So, NHC'ers, let's work harder than ever to make them feel welcomed, loved, accepted and encouraged as they walk through our doors. Let's do whatever it takes to change the way they think about church and Jesus! Are you with me?
BTW - DROP WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING RIGHT NOW AND INVITE YOUR PEEPS TO EASTER AT NEW HORIZON!!!
